I) Process Description:

The cellulose and waste paper bales are loaded to a high density pulper through a steel- plate conveyor. The pulp is dissolved by a rotor, which is prepared to work with 12-15% of consistency, this cycle is automatic. Then the stock is discharged to a coarse selector where the high dimension contaminants are removed, after this filtering unit, the pulp is pumped toward a 60 m3 stainless steel pulper tank. The stock is pumped through a high density cleaner in order to remove the high density contaminant, and then the system has the option to enable another screening module composed by superscreen, vortiscreen and vibrating screen. After this screening stage, the pulp is pumped to a level tank in order to feed to a deflaker unit, and then the stock goes to a 30 m3 stainless steel machine tank. From this chest, the pulp is pumped to a level machine tank passing through a refiner unit. From this point the stock falls to a multiple stage low density cleaner, this flow is controlled by an automatic basis weight valve. The accepted stock is pumped by the fan pump to the machine headbox passing through a machine fiber pressure selector.

The stock flow is distributed by the headbox on the wire and the felt forming the paper sheet, and then it is transported by the felt to be dried. The dry system is composed by vacuum press roll, hot air hood system and a dryer cylinder. The sheet is released from the yankee cylinder by a creeping doctor blade and then it is winded by the pope reel system.

In order to save the fresh water consumption the paper mill has a white water treatment system composed by flotation system.

The yankee dryer require steam to dry the paper and a condensate system to remove the condensate inside the yankee. On the other hand the yankee hood system needs fans and burners to produce and circulate the hot air.

A) Dissolving system:

  • Pulper stainless steel tank. Volume: 60 m3. Agitator manufactured by ST Macchine, type AST 1000, powered by Ac motor 18.5 kw, 985 rpm. ABB level control.
